Complete Reusable Cap-Chur Syringe

Price range: $15.95 through $25.95

These aluminum syringes are made to be used over and over. The Cap-Chur charge (sold separately) is inserted behind the rubber piston within the syringe, and it explodes on impact and drives the piston forward forcing the liquid out through the needle. Available in numerous sizes and needle combinations for many applications. Plunger lube (#2400) is essential to the successful use of these syringes. It is sometimes advisable to replace the rubber plunger (#2440) portion of the syringe when it begins to harden.

NOTE: Reusable Cap-Chur syringes require Cap-Chur Charge  (sold separately)

Description

Tail Piece Type: Yarn is ideal for CO2 projectors. The plastic is recommended for Cartridge Fired projectors since the yarn will burn a little each time it is shot from this projector.

Barrel Size: The amount of medication, the darts need to be completely full.

Needle Types:

  • Plain needles: These are slick needles, they fall out quickly. Many times plain needles do not stay in until the syringe is emptied. Some people know this and increase their drug dosage to cover the loss of medication. With the smaller syringes (1cc and 2cc) the animal will probably get all the medication.
  • Drop-Off Needles: These are needles with a bump on one side, this helps the dart to hold longer to allow the medication to completely empty. These are mainly used in medicating animals but may still be used when you want the syringe to fall out quickly. In a case were the animal could run off into thick cover or if you do not want the animal to run around with a syringe sticking out of it. (drop off needles are open tip, sideport drop off has the 2 holes on the side and the tip is closed)
  • Side-Port Type Needles: The benefit of the side delivery system is that the medication is delivered over twice the area of the regular needle. This makes for a smaller injection site and the medication is absorbed much quicker into the system of the animal. Even if the syringe misses its target the syringe can still empty even if it has hit the ground as the point will not be filled will dirt or trash.
  • Small Collar Needles: These have a small collar that wraps around the needle (vs a drop off is just a bump on one side). These are recommended for small calves (300lbs & under) or other thin skinned animals.
  • Large Collar Needles: Large collars are used mainly in immobilization work. There are a few cases where you may have to use the large collar to give medication, such as on thin skinned animals where you would be using large quantities of a thick medication.

*Sideport Drop Off is the most used and recommended for medicating. (shown in picture)

*3/4″ is recommended for subcutaneous while 1-1/8″ is recommended for intramuscular or animals with thick hair/fur.
